Adam Avizius Identified As Man Charged in Shooting That injured 2 Boys Outside Chicago Library

According to Chicago police, charges have been filed in connection with a shooting that wounded two young boys outside a library in the Garfield Park neighborhood of the city.

In a recent development, 37-year-old Adam Avizius has been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery discharge of a firearm.

A shooting incident was reported at the Henry E. Legler Regional Branch of the Chicago Public Library located on the 100 block of South Pulaski in Garfield Park at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Officers were quick to respond to the scene.

According to family members, a 12-year-old boy has been shot in the back near his spine and is experiencing difficulty walking.

According to police reports, a 16-year-old boy sustained two gunshot wounds to his legs and was taken to a nearby hospital. The victim’s condition was reported to be stable.

According to the family, a 12-year-old student attends Genevieve Melody Elementary School nearby and visits the library daily to complete his homework. A man was shot while he was outside eating a snack.

According to sources, Avizius is scheduled to appear in bond court on Friday.
