Christopher Garcia Arrested And Charged For First Degree Murder In South Raynor Avenue

In Joliet, a 20-year-old man named Christopher Garcia has been taken into custody on charges of First Degree Murder.

He has been processed and subsequently transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he will remain for the time being. The charges against him include three counts of First Degree Murder.

At 6:51 PM on September 27, 2020, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Raynor Avenue following a report of a shooting incident. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Tre Stanley (28) of Joliet, who had been shot in the head while sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

In critical condition, Stanley was transported to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department. On October 3, 2020, Stanley was pronounced deceased at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago after being airlifted there earlier.

Following the shooting, detectives wasted no time in initiating an investigation and ultimately pinpointed Garcia as a suspect.

On May 25, 2023, it was reported that detectives had obtained a warrant for the arrest of Garcia on charges of three counts of First-Degree Murder. A bond of $2.5 million was set by a Will County Judge.

On June 1, 2023, Garcia was taken into custody by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force at a residence located in the 600 block of Vine Street.
