Suspect, victim named in an ‘unprovoked’ fatal stabbing at City Hall CTrain Station in Calgary

One man has been charged, and the victim of a fatal altercation that occurred yesterday has now been identified.

According to Calgary police, at approximately 3 a.m., on Thursday, May 25, 2023, the victim was located at the City Hall CTrain Station and transported to hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. It is believed the fatal altercation occurred in Olympic Plaza and that the victim made his way to the CTrain station before collapsing.

Upon completion of the autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the death has been deemed a homicide. The identity of the victim has been confirmed as 32-year-old Donovan MOOSE.

As a result of the investigation and review of CCTV, one suspect has been identified. Kyle WESTCOTT, 26, has been charged with second-degree murder.

WESTCOTT is scheduled to next appear in court on Friday, June 9, 2023.
