According to military authorities, the incident took place at approximately 12:15 PM on May 22. In Yangju, a soldier in his 20s identified only as Private A was critically injured during K2 personal weapon shooting training.
The soldier suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head and is currently receiving medical attention. Private A received immediate medical attention, which included cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Regrettably, despite exhaustive efforts, the soldier ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
