Private A Identified As Victim Soldier Shot in the Head During Shooting Training at a Military Base

An investigation has been initiated by the authorities to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.

According to military authorities, the incident took place at approximately 12:15 PM on May 22. In Yangju, a soldier in his 20s identified only as Private A was critically injured during K2 personal weapon shooting training.

The soldier suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head and is currently receiving medical attention. Private A received immediate medical attention, which included cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Regrettably, despite exhaustive efforts, the soldier ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

According to recent reports, Private A was hit by a bullet that was fired from his own rifle. The rifle had been loaded with live ammunition during a training session. According to a military official, the family and loved ones of the deceased have been offered profound condolences. The official stated, “We extend our deepest sympathies” to them.
