Joshua Rodriguez Identified As Man Arrested For Second-Degree Murder After High-Rise Shooting

According to the Rochester Police Department, a man has been arrested on Tuesday morning in relation to the deadly shooting that occurred inside a high-rise on Van Auker Street.

A 22-year-old named Roje Lowry was shot on the ninth floor of a building on May 26. The individual was transported to URMC, where he was declared deceased.

According to the RPD, the suspect in the murder of Lowry has been identified as 22-year-old Joshua Rodriguez, who was an acquaintance of the victim.

According to investigators, it has been clarified that neither Lowry nor Rodriguez were residents of the building. However, Lowry did have family members who resided there.

According to official reports, Rodriguez has been taken into custody and is facing charges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to sources, the defendant is scheduled to appear for arraignment at Rochester City Court on Tuesday morning.
