Walter Robinson III Identified As Man Found in Trash Bin in Richmond Alley

Police have identified the man who was found dead in a residential trash bin in a Near West End alley.

Authorities are seeking assistance from the public as they conduct further investigations into the incident.

On Saturday, May 20, at approximately 11:54 a.m., police received a report of a person down in the 4500 block of Hanover Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the scene in response to the call.

In the alley, officers discovered 36-year-old Walter Robinson III of Richmond unresponsive inside a residential disposal container. At the scene, he was pronounced dead with no apparent signs of trauma.

Angela Heath, a resident of the Near West End, expressed her initial disbelief, stating, “At first I thought, ‘oh no, there can’t be foul play like that in this neighborhood.'”

According to her, the neighborhood is a large family-oriented community. According to the user, the area is deemed safe and relatively quiet. The individual reported having lived in the area for a period exceeding 10 years. The individual expressed their fondness for the current location.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of Robinson’s death. Richmond Police are requesting that anyone with information regarding this incident contact them at 804-646-5112.
