According to neighbors, a white woman who has been charged with fatally shooting her Black neighbor through a door has a history of harassing area children and using racial slurs against them. This information was revealed on Wednesday.
In a statement released by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, it was reported that Susan Louise Lorincz, aged 58, was taken into custody on Tuesday. She is facing charges of manslaughter with a firearm, culpable negligence, battery, and two counts of assault.
In Ocala, authorities have reported that the arrest of Lorincz has been made a few days after he allegedly shot Ajike “AJ” Owens, a 35-year-old mother of four, through her front door on Friday night.
According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, Owens allegedly went to Lorincz’s residence, knocked on the door several times, and insisted that Lorincz exit the premises to resolve a disagreement.
Neighbors have recounted instances where the suspect allegedly recorded their children, hurled derogatory remarks at them, contacted law enforcement, and brandished firearms at them simply for being young.
According to Sharna Mozell, a 36-year-old resident of the neighborhood for about 12 years, Lorincz was notorious for bullying children and had earned the moniker of “Karen” among the locals. The term “Karen” is a sarcastic reference to a white woman who harasses people of color and is reputed to be racist.
According to Mozell, her youngest daughter claimed that Lorincz would record their activities and subsequently report them to the authorities, even if it was just a harmless game.
It remains unclear at this time whether Lorincz, who is currently detained in the Marion County Jail, has legal representation available to provide comment on her behalf.
