Rani Barnes and Michael “Mike” Wilkes, Two Victim Found Dead on 1209 Firetower Road, Apartment K

The bodies found at 1209 Firetower Road, Apartment K (Belle Meade Apartments), have been identified as those of Rani Renee Barnes and Michael “Mike” Wilkes.

On May 25, 2023, they were recognized as the victims of a murder-suicide in Greenville, North Carolina. On Thursday, the event took place about 1:15 in the afternoon. Officers from the Greenville Police Department were called to 1209 Firetower Road, Apartment K, following the incident.

Two persons had reportedly been found dead inside the residence when authorities arrived on the scene.

When the responding officers arrived, they found the bodies of Michael Anthony Wilkes Jr., 39, and Rani Renee Barnes, 35. One could call the relationship between Barnes and Wilkes romantic.
