On Sunday afternoon, Earl Hargrove Jr. was taken into custody by authorities for reportedly dousing gasoline on a man following a dispute at a gas station. The victim sustained severe injuries after being set on fire and is currently in critical condition.
As per the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, an altercation broke out between two men on May 28 around 4:30 p.m. at a Mobil gas station located on 22nd Street in Tampa, Florida. According to reports, Earl Hargrove Jr., aged 34, is said to have bought fuel from the pump after the altercation.

After an argument, Hargrove allegedly set another man on fire.
According to reports, Hargrove stands accused of dousing the victim with gasoline and subsequently setting him ablaze. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim’s identity has not been disclosed.
However, he was promptly transported to Tampa General Hospital and is currently in critical condition with injuries that are considered life-threatening. According to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, he stated that a verbal argument should never escalate to the level of violence witnessed.
According to the speaker, the act committed by the suspect is not only considered abhorrent but is also deemed unacceptable within the community. The culprit is currently in custody as justice is awaited, according to reports.
Hargrove has been charged with first-degree attempted murder and aggravated violence resulting in serious bodily harm. Currently, the individual is being detained without bond at the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail.
