Second Arrest Made In Connection To Avon Avenue Shooting In Burlington

Burlington police have made an arrest in connection to the shooting that occurred on Avon Avenue in February.

The second suspect, identified as 21-year-old Zion Corbett, was apprehended after months of ongoing investigation and with the assistance of other agencies.

According to official records, Corbett has been charged with Felony Probation Violation and Assault With Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury With Intent to Kill.

The individual was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and was given a bail amount of $100,000.

In February, a 31-year-old man was shot on Avon Avenue in Burlington by Corbett and Jamel Graham, who are both 22 years old. Several days later, the victim was discharged from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Possible additional charges for both suspects are being considered.
