In North Miami Beach, a man named Louis Antuwn Redmon, who had previously been convicted of a felony in Florida, has been taken into custody for the murder of a man who was about to get married. The victim was shot during an attempted carjacking.

The incident occurred just days before the victim’s wedding, which was scheduled to take place in New York. According to a report by WPLG, 23-year-old Louis Antuwn Redmon was taken into custody on Wednesday.

He is facing multiple charges including first-degree murder, armed robbery, armed carjacking, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

A member of the local Orthodox Jewish community in Florida, Hershy Schwartz, 39, was allegedly shot and killed by Redmon. The incident occurred approximately one week prior to Schwartz’s upcoming marriage to Rosie Brustowsky.

According to NBC Miami, Brustowsky expressed relief that the individual responsible for the incident is no longer a threat to the public. She added, “That doesn’t bring him back.”

According to an arrest warrant cited by WPLG, surveillance video captured the accused killer peering into Schwartz’s vehicle in the parking lot of a Wendy’s located at 25 NE 167th St. on Feb. 19.

According to the warrant, the suspect opened the door of the SUV and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim. After stepping back, the suspect proceeded to discharge a firearm.

According to sources, Redmon reportedly utilized Schwartz’s mobile device to contact his ex or current partner and her son, who were incarcerated at the time, via phone calls and text messages.

According to police, on March 23rd, a woman and her son made contact with the suspect, who goes by the name “Bam,” through an Instagram video call. During the call, the suspect informed them that he had seen a man sleeping in his vehicle before the shooting that resulted in the man’s death.

A week before his wedding, a man from North Miami Beach was killed and an arrest has been made in connection with the crime.

According to sources, Redmon, a resident of Jacksonville, had been lodging at the North Miami Beach Garden Inn & Suites hotel prior to the shooting incident.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was arrested on Wednesday following an incident that resulted in the death of Schwartz. The office stated that the cause of death was a “armed carjacking gone wrong.”

According to officials, the shooting was linked to Redmon through fingerprints and ballistic evidence. On Thursday, North Miami Beach police Chief Harvette Smith made an announcement regarding an arrest. Smith stated that the suspect had taken Hershy’s life.

According to WPLG, Schwartz hails from Rockland County, New York and served as a first responder for the William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance in Chestnut Ridge and the Brewer Fire Engine Company No. 1 in Monsey. For approximately 12 years, he resided in South Florida.

Schwartz and Brustowsky were reported to have a wedding countdown on their phones. The individual stated that the week in question was anticipated to be the most remarkable one of their existence. According to the outlet, she said, “And instead, we were mourning.”

According to Brustowsky, he was anticipating the worst day of his life. “Looking back,” he said, “I was counting down to it.” The individual’s betrothed was a prominent figure within the Orthodox Jewish community and held a significant position within the charitable organization Chesed Shel Emes, also known as “Charity of Truth,” which provides assistance to those who require it.

According to Yehuda Kaploun, a friend of his, Hershy was a man who eagerly anticipated the holidays and had a flamboyant personality. He would often wear shirts of various colors when attending the synagogue. This was reported by NBC Miami in February. According to him, the individual in question brought a smile to the face.

Yoel Schwartz, the brother of the victim, has appealed to the public for assistance in locating the perpetrator following the crime.

According to the Miami Herald, he stated, “Hershy was not only a brother to me, but also my closest companion.” The plea is to locate the individual responsible for the act and ensure that justice is served for Hershy.

Redmon, who was detained without bail, had been freed from jail in September following a three-year imprisonment for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon. Details regarding the suspect’s prior conviction remain unclear at this time.
