Rochester New York Shooting: One Dead After Shooting at Rochester Apartment Complex
Rochester New York Shooting: A 22-year-old man was killed early Friday morning on Van Aucker Street in southwest Rochester.
According to Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department, emergency personnel were called to an apartment complex at 150 Van Aucker St. at around 12:30 a.m. on Friday to look into a shooting that had occurred in the building’s ninth-floor corridor.
The victim, who had at least one gunshot wound, was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital where doctors there declared him dead, according to Umbrino. The name of the man was withheld by the police.
According to the RPD’s Open Data Portal, the killing marked the 17th homicide in Rochester in 2023.
At dawn, RPD investigators and technicians continued to examine the area. They are anticipated to stay for the majority of the morning.
West of Ford Street, close to Rochester’s Corn Hill district, is where you’ll find Van Aucker Street.
