Fatal Shooting; Man Killed in Possible Road Rage Shooting on I-45 near Downtown Houston

According to police, a man was fatally shot during a potential road rage altercation on I-45 northbound in downtown Houston.

On Friday night at around 10 p.m., a shooting occurred on the Pierce Elevated section of I-45 near San Jacinto Street.

According to police, a call was received from an individual regarding a disturbance and a shooting on the Pierce Elevated. Upon the arrival of officers, a deceased male was discovered with gunshot wounds.

According to a witness who remained at the scene, a dark-colored truck was seen leaving after the shooting and was reported to the police.

According to HPD Commander Elizabeth Lorenzana, the shooting is believed to have possibly stemmed from a case of road rage.

Lorenzana stated that it is currently speculation. According to the witness’s account, it seems that the incident began as a case of road rage and then turned into a shooting.

According to HPD Lt. Ignacio Izaguirre, it seems that the individuals exited their vehicles on the freeway prior to the fatal shooting.

Authorities are urging individuals who may have information regarding the shooting incident to reach out to the Homicide Division of HPD or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
