Mabel, the wife of well-known Nigerian comedian AY Makun, appears to have responded to Basketmouth’s claim that he and her husband were never close.

It’s no secret that the comedians have been at odds for a long time, but the root of their conflict was unclear.

However, AY recently described how he attempted to attend Basketmouth’s wedding but was sent away when speaking about his 17-year feud with Basketmouth in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

He claimed that even though his name wasn’t on the guest list, his wife’s was, so they were forced to return home without attending the wedding.

“When we arrived, my wife’s name was on the guest list, but my own was noticeably missing. I was looking at my wife, my wife was looking at me, and she said, let’s be going home since you are not qualified to enter.” He said. ICYMI.

However, Basketmouth claimed AY or his wife, Mabel, were not invited to his wedding when giving his own version of events on Nedu’s Honest Bunch podcast.

He claimed that because he was unable to include everyone in the industry on his guest list, there was only a list of his close pals.

He claimed that he didn’t invite AY or his wife because he didn’t think of them as friends.

“Ay is not my friend, I didn’t invite him nor his wife to my wedding, they just came themselves. I only invited my friends”, he said.

Not even a day had passed since Basketmouth’s interview when Mabel used her Instagram page to address the public with what appears to be a dig at the comedian.

She claimed that because they were not educated otherwise, some people are hostile and unable to speak sensibly about others.

The interior decorator penned:

“I have come to realize that some people pass information in an aggressive manner because they know no other way.”

She added: “Everyone can’t be soft spoken. Understand this and know peace.”
