The officer who was shot in Nashville on Thursday afternoon has been identified by Metro Police.
According to authorities, Officer Donovan Coble, a four-year veteran with the MNPD, is currently in critical-stable condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to his side. According to reports, Coble was dispatched to The Parking Spot in response to an alleged incident involving an armed man breaking into vehicles.
According to Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron, Coble is expected to recover.

In a recent incident, a 37-year-old suspect who was allegedly involved in a shooting, engaged in a gunfire exchange with Metro Police SWAT officers.
The suspect was later found behind a brush pile on Upshaw Drive and was shot during the encounter. The individual has been transported to the hospital to receive medical attention. There were no injuries reported among other officers.
Just before 3:30 p.m., the police released a picture of the suspect linked to the shooting. According to a witness, an individual was reportedly trying to break into vehicles at The Parking Spot, a parking facility located near the Nashville International Airport, on Thursday afternoon. According to the witness, the man brandished a firearm at the employee during the incident.
According to a witness, an exchange of gunfire occurred between law enforcement officials and a suspect in the vicinity of Donelson Pike.
In February 2022, Coble reportedly participated in the Partners in Care pilot project, which involved pairing police officers with mental health professionals, as per WSMV4 Investigates. In April, the Department Commendation Award was bestowed upon him.
In 2019, Coble was bestowed with the Officer Michael Petrina Leadership Award upon graduating from the police academy.
Coble was honored as the Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Donelson-Hermitage on Tuesday.
