In loving memory of recent Quincy Notre Dame High School graduate killed in Ralls County crash

An accident on Route M in Ralls County claimed the life of a recent Quincy Notre Dame graduate and injured another, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Jace A. Utterback, 18, of New London, Missouri, was a passenger in a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder that Tucker L. Tollerton, 18, of Hannibal, was driving at 8:26 p.m. on Saturday, according to the police.

Just 3 miles southwest of Hannibal on Route M, the teens’ car veered off the right side of the road, according to police. They claimed that although the car managed to re-enter the road, Tollerton’s overcorrection caused it to flip many times before leaving the road to the left.

At 9:10 p.m., Tollerton was declared dead at Hannibal Regional Hospital after being brought there. Additionally transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital, Utterback received treatment there for moderate wounds.

Tollerton was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, but Utterback was, according to the crash report.

Prior to the accident, Tollerton was a member of the QND baseball team, which had just won the sectional championship. In the winning game, Tollerton had two RBIs.
