Aiken Walmart Shooting Suspect Identified As Stephen Foreman

32-year-old Stephen Foreman, a resident of Aiken, has been charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, according to authorities.

As of now, there exists no established connection between the victim and the suspect.

As of now, there is no known motive.

As per an incident report, Foreman contacted the police and informed them that he was present at a KFC in the vicinity. He further stated that he had left his Colt 1911 firearm on a shelf inside the store.

Reporting from Aiken, South Carolina, this is WJBF. The Aiken County Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting at a local Walmart, that left one victim injured.

It happened Wednesday night at the store on Whiskey Road.

According to eyewitness Kari Johnson, a chaotic scene unfolded when approximately 50 individuals suddenly began running towards the exit while someone shouted about an active shooter.

Johnson’s husband quickly pushed her to safety in one of the store’s aisles and instructed her to remain there.

A regular night for shoppers at the Walmart on Whiskey road, ended with people running for cover and fearing for their lives.

Officers say they responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m.

Lieutenant Joe O’Conner with the Aiken Department of Public Safety said, “we arrived on scene we found one victim that victim was transported to a local hospital officers rendered aid prior to that the shooting is now in custody.”

According to Kari Johnson, amidst the commotion of people fleeing the vicinity, her spouse bravely headed towards the source of the gunfire. That’s when he found a 13-year-old girl.

According to Johnson, a man approached a woman and her mother as they were examining a pair of shorts. Suddenly, the man fired a shot that pierced the woman’s arm and entered her abdomen.

Officers say the suspected shooters motive is not known right now. According to Johnson, the incident was a horrifying experience for everyone present in the store.

According to a witness, there appeared to be no established protocol in place during the shooting incident as none of the employees seemed to know what to do or where to go.

Despite the danger, some customers were still attempting to enter the premises to shop. The witness and a few others had to intervene and inform them that an active shooting was taking place, and it was not safe to enter.
