On Monday, Davenport officials conducted a news conference in light of the retrieval of three victims from an apartment building that had partially collapsed on May 28th.
On June 3, Branden Colvin Sr., a 42-year-old resident of Davenport, was reportedly found in the debris, according to officials. On June 4, Ryan Hitchcock, a 51-year-old resident of Davenport, was found. Early Monday morning, Daniel Prien, a 60-year-old resident of Davenport, was found and recovered.
According to Davenport Mayor Mike Matson, “Our hearts continue to go out to the families and everyone involved in this tragic incident.”

A tenant has filed a lawsuit following the collapse of a building in Iowa that resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The tenant alleges that the city and building owners failed to provide adequate warning of the potential danger.
According to officials, it is believed that everyone has been accounted for.

According to the Associated Press, individuals who currently or previously resided in the building have reported interior cracks on the wall that eventually led to its collapse, and these concerns were brought to the attention of building management.
According to a statement dated May 30, the owner of the building, Andrew Wold, expressed his condolences to the tenants, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with our tenants.” Efforts to reach him, his company, and a man believed to be his attorney have been unsuccessful, and he has made no statement since then.
According to county records, the Davenport Hotel L.L.C. has reportedly acquired the building in a deal worth $4.2 million in 2021.
According to city officials, the building must be demolished in a safe and controlled manner.
