Darryl L. Coleman identified as victim of Wednesday night hit-and-run in Topeka

A Topeka man has been identified as the deceased victim of a hit-and-run accident that occurred late at night in the Capital City.

According to the Topeka Police Department, Darryl L. Coleman, 63, of Topeka, was the victim of a hit-and-run on May 24th, on a Wednesday night.

Coleman’s injuries from the event led to his death, according to the announcement made by authorities on Thursday.

TPD said that it received a hit-and-run call at about 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday from the vicinity of SW 21st St. and SW Seabrook Ave. Witnesses claimed Coleman was struck by a dark-colored passenger car that then raced off.

Authorities stated that they are still looking for the at-fault driver.
