Linda Anabelle-Tammie Garay Identified As Victim Of Greenwich House Fire

A spokesperson from the Huron County Coroner’s Office has reported that Linda Anabelle-Tammie Garay, an eight-year-old resident of Greenwich, passed away in a residential fire on Saturday, June 3.

On Wednesday, the child’s identity was confirmed by Dr. Jeffery Harwood.

Located in the southern region of Huron County, Greenwich is situated in close proximity to Richland and Ashland counties.

In a news release on Monday, Patrick Fox, chief of the Greenwich Police Department, stated that the incident was tragic and devastating for the family, community, and first responders involved.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The investigation has been taken over by investigators from the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office.

According to an obituary published by Eastman Funeral Home, Linda’s parents are Krista Lewis and Juan Garay. At South Central, where she had recently completed second grade, a child who radiated love and hope with her ever-present smile was fond of giving hugs and had a passion for baseball and school. According to the obituary, she was a sociable individual who held a deep affection for her siblings, animals, and the television series “Stranger Things.”

According to the announcement, visitation is scheduled to take place from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Eastman Funeral Home in Greenwich. The funeral service is set to be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, with the Rev. George Mays presiding over the ceremony.
