According to federal officials, a fugitive who was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of three individuals, including two children who were playing with kittens in the backyard of their Pennsylvania home, has been apprehended in Philadelphia.
On Tuesday night, Ivan Claudio Rosero, 27, was apprehended without any trouble at a park, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Shortly after the May 30 slayings in Lebanon, two additional suspects, one of whom is a minor, were apprehended.
According to prosecutors, the intention is to pursue the death penalty against Rosero and the other adult suspect.
In a tragic incident, three individuals lost their lives, including brothers Jesus and Sebastian Perez-Salome, aged 8 and 9, respectively. According to a relative, the mother of the boys was employed at a convenience store in the vicinity when she heard gunshots.
She immediately rushed back home and discovered that her sons had been shot. This information was disclosed to The Associated Press. According to their uncle, Felix Muniz Torres, the boys were “very close” and spent most of their time playing together with superhero figures.
According to authorities, the third victim of the shooting, identified as 19-year-old Joshua Lugo-Perez, was apparently targeted by the shooters due to a previous argument. According to sources, Lugo-Perez was not related to the boys with whom he lived at the residence where the shooting took place.
According to authorities, Rosero escaped the location of the shooting in a white BMW that was later traced back to his girlfriend. This prompted a thorough search across the state, which ultimately led marshals to Philadelphia.
According to officials, Rosero was found in possession of the keys to a BMW at the time of his arrest, and the vehicle was located in close proximity.
According to a news release from the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office, Rosero confessed to detectives that he drove himself and the other shooters to the house in Lebanon and fired multiple shots.
She stated, “When children are killed and a community is once again at risk due to irrational gun violence, justice requires maximum effort.”
Attorneys for Rosero and the other suspects, Alex Torres Santos, 22, and a 16-year-old male, were not listed in court records. Three individuals have been charged with three counts of criminal homicide, conspiracy, and additional offenses. They are currently being held in custody.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Tiffany Koziara, the girlfriend of Rosero, allegedly provided false information to investigators regarding her communication with him.
Additionally, she reportedly reserved a hotel room for both herself and Rosero during the time when authorities were conducting a search of her residence. A woman has been charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive and has been detained on a bail of $250,000. An attorney for her was not listed in court records.
