Stephanie Lynette Identified As Victim In Goldsboro Homicide; Suspect Arrested

Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Goldsboro and have taken another individual into custody, who has been charged in connection with the incident.

On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, Goldsboro police confirmed the death of 30-year-old Stephanie Lynette Smith, a resident of Goldsboro, following a shooting incident.

A 23-year-old woman named Johnique Nicolie Richards has been taken into custody and accused of committing murder as well as attempted robbery.

Wayne County Jail is where Richards was taken, and he was not granted bond.
