Newport Fire Leaves 1 Dead And Another1 Injured

A house fire in Newport on Sunday resulted in the death of one person and injury of another.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., fire crews were dispatched to a residence located on Isabella Street near W 10th Street.

According to officials, a person reportedly leaped from a second-story window in an attempt to flee from the flames.

The two victims were transported to the hospital. Seventy-nine-year-old Lloyd Redmond has been reported as one of the victims who passed away.
