A suspect has been arrested following a shooting incident involving their roommate. The suspect allegedly shot their roommate and subsequently refused to provide any assistance.
A shooting incident was reported to the authorities on May 16, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m. The incident occurred at a residence located in the vicinity of 78th and Sheridan, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
According to reports, a suspect by the name of Matthew Villarreal contacted emergency services and claimed to have shot his roommate. Villarreal allegedly stated that he was not willing to offer any assistance to the victim.
The victim was rushed to the hospital by officers, EMSA, and Tulsa Fire Paramedics who arrived on the scene.
According to the investigation, it has been revealed that Villarreal and the victim have been sharing a living space for approximately one year. According to Villarreal, over the course of the past year, he had felt increasingly insulted by the victim’s actions.
According to Villarreal, he retrieved a gun from his bedroom and shot the victim multiple times while the victim was lying on the couch. Villarreal stated that he was provoked by the victim’s insults prior to the shooting.
