Jayden McGirt Charged with Attempted Murder after Shooting Dad

In South Carolina, an 18-year-old high school senior named Jayden McGirt has been charged with attempted murder.

According to reports, McGirt shot his father, citing his inability to deal with him any longer as the reason for his actions.

Jayden McGirt is reportedly facing charges for possessing a weapon during a violent incident. A woman who was assisting a victim in cleaning his home in North Augusta alerted the police to the site.

According to her statement to the officers, she mentioned that everyone had been in a positive and cheerful state throughout the night.

As per reports, when McGirt’s father directed his son to retire for the night, she proceeded towards the garage where she reportedly heard the sound of gunshots.

Upon re-entering the house, the individual observed the father lying on the ground and the teenager in possession of a black revolver.

According to reports, when asked about the situation, McGirt reportedly responded with the statement, “I can’t deal with him anymore.”

Upon the arrival of the police shortly before midnight, they came across a 37-year-old victim lying in a pool of blood, having sustained a gunshot wound to the upper right leg. According to the police report, officers were unable to determine the number of wounds due to the presence of blood.

As per the report, the father was observed to be in a state of fluctuating consciousness and repeatedly expressed his apprehension of succumbing to his injuries. According to reports, he was listed in critical condition at Augusta University Medical Center.

According to the report, McGirt was caught sitting on a curb not far from the scene after fleeing the area before the authorities arrived. According to officers, a young man was detected with a strong smell of alcohol. The man expressed his apologies and stated that he had affection for his father

.The individual also conveyed to them that it was necessary for him to retire for the night in order to attend the graduation rehearsal the following morning.

According to jail records, he is currently being held without bond in the Aiken County Jail after spending the night there. According to the police report, officers have been called to the residence on multiple occasions in the past for both well-being checks and domestic disputes.
