Woman found shot at Atmore hotel, Tara Ann Bryan has died; Suspect, Luis Trevizo Becerra now charged with murder

Atmore Police claim that on May 17, 2023, at around 11:45 a.m., officers from Atmore responded to a room at the Southland Hotel, located at 1304 East Louisville Avenue, in response to a report of a gunshot victim.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a female who had been shot lying on the ground.

The woman was flown by helicopter to a medical facility where she was later identified as Tara Ann Bryan of Atmore. I
The suspect was identified as Luis Trevizo Becerra, 39, of McDavid, Florida, by investigators.

For Becerra, a BOLO was issued statewide. At milepost 99 on Interstate 65, ALEA Troopers caught him.

Becerra was driven to the Atmore Police Department, where he was questioned by detectives. Becerra was taken to the Escambia County, Alabama Detention Center after being charged with attempted murder.

Tara Ann Bryan’s injury caused her death on May 22, 2023. The charge of attempted murder has been changed to murder.
