William Theotis Chambliss Identified As Victim Of Fatal Crash In Edwards Street

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Thursday night, prompting an investigation by the Hattiesburg Police Department.

At approximately 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to an incident in the vicinity of Edwards Street and Barkley Road, as reported by HPD.

According to HPD, a man was discovered deceased at the location. According to reports, he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

According to Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem, the victim has been identified as William Theotis Chambliss, a 63-year-old resident of Hattiesburg. According to official sources, the next of kin has been notified.
