Reynaud Shields Jr Identified as Victim Fatally Shot Outside Church’s Chicken in Bywater

Reynaud Shields Jr., 21, has been identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office as the man who was fatally shot outside of a Church’s Chicken in the Bywater neighborhood on Wednesday.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, a shooting took place around 1:30 p.m. in the vicinity of a restaurant situated in the 4300 block of St. Claude Avenue (map).

Upon arrival at the scene, officers from the 5th District discovered Shield with several gunshot wounds. According to police, he was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
