A banner plane’s pilot was killed after his jet crashed in Hollywood on Wednesday afternoon close to a shopping center.
According to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration, the single-engine Piper aircraft went down at 450 N Park Road, close to Hollywood Boulevard, at 12:45 p.m.
The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA are currently looking into the disaster, which involved only the pilot as passengers, officials said.
Former commercial pilot Mitchell Knaus was getting ready to fly banner aircraft.
