Memphis Police release details on fatal shooting at South Third Street and East Belle Haven Road

The victim in the fatal shooting at South Third Street and East Belle Haven Road on Sunday afternoon is now identified as Gregory Cooper.

According to police, on May 21, 2023, at 12:00 pm, officers responded to a shooting at South Third Street and East Belle Haven Road in front of the Villa Inn.

Cooper was located in his vehicle after he had been shot. The two suspects were seen at the hotel before and running from the scene after the shooting, police siad.

“Suspect #1 was a male wearing a black hat, a yellow shirt, blue jeans, and black and white Jordans. Suspect #2 was a male wearing a black hat, a black hoodie, grey jeans, and black and white shoes,” Memphis Police said in a media release.
