The government has not approached the state House of Assembly on this matter.
Speculations arose on Wednesday suggesting that the government had initiated steps to dissolve the emirates and reinstate Emir Sanusi II. However, the press secretary emphasised that the engagement between the executive and legislative arms of the government would be transparent and open to ensure that residents have access to information regarding significant policies and decisions of the administration.
Tofa further clarified that Governor Ganduje had only submitted a request to appoint 20 special advisers, which was duly approved by the state assembly during its inaugural session. He also mentioned that the list of nominees for commissioners is expected to be forwarded to the assembly for confirmation in the coming week.

Kano Emirates: No decision yet taken on the status of the new emirates established by the previous administration.
Contrary to the rumours circulating in social media, Kano State government has not taken any decision yet on the new emirates as speculated.
The engagements between executive and legistilative arms of government in Kano will be open and transparent to allow the good people of Kano access to information on major policies and decisions of the NNPP led administration.
His Excellency has submitted a request to appoint 20 special advisers which was graciously approved by the state assembly in its maiden sitting today.
It is expected that the list of nominees for commissioners who will serve the next cabinet would be sent to the assembly next week for confirmation.
