Jethros BBQ Manager, Jennifer Russell Died in Iowa City Car Accident, Two Injured

Jennifer Russell Car Accident: One person has died after a fatal crash in Iowa City.

On Saturday night at 10:54 p.m., police were summoned to the junction of Court Street and Seventh Avenue due to reports of a collision.

Authorities discovered that two 17-year-old drivers of a 2008 Saturn and a 2012 GMC were driving west on Court Street and did not stop at the junction of South 7th Avenue and Court Street. They struck a 2017 Chevrolet being operated by Waterloo resident Jennifer Russell, 22.

In Iowa City, at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Jennifer Russell was declared deceased. Three additional people, all of whom were 17 years old, were hurt in the collision.

The Iowa State Patrol is looking into it.
