The Kampala Metropolitan Police South (KMP South) and Kajjansi Police Division are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that took place on the evening of May 30th, 2023. At Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje Division, Makindye Sebagabo in Wakiso District, an incident occurred.
Mukisa Ronnie, a 45-year-old lawyer employed at IBC Advocates in Namanda Plaza, Kampala, has been identified as the victim. A man by the name of Mr. Mukisa resided in Kitiko Birongo, located in Ndejje Division of Makindye Sebagabo, within the Wakiso District.
Preliminary information suggests that Mr. Mukisa frequently arrived home late. According to reports, the individual in question arrived at the apartment parking lot around 11:00 PM on the night of the incident.
Mr. Mukisa parked his dark blue Subaru Legacy, bearing registration number UBJ 006K, before proceeding to close the gate. Gunshots were heard by neighbors when he was returning to the apartment, which prompted them to investigate the commotion.
According to eyewitness accounts, an unknown person was observed firing shots at Mr. Mukisa. The assailant then retreated momentarily before coming back to shoot him multiple times in the head from close proximity.
The assailant made a swift exit from the scene and absconded on a motorcycle that was already waiting, leaving the direction of their escape unknown.
Upon receiving the report of the incident, Kajansi Police Station took immediate action. Following the dispatch of a team to the scene, canines were introduced to assist in the investigation. The scent was lost despite their efforts, according to reports.
Four projectiles and cartridges were recovered after a comprehensive search of the area. The body of Mr. Mukisa has been recovered and taken to the City Mortuary for further examination, according to reports.
The Kajansi Police Station is actively conducting inquiries to gather additional information and determine the motive behind the atrocious crime. The public is being assured that all possible measures are being taken to capture the perpetrator(s) and hold them accountable for their actions.
