A group of professionals from the suspended Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele’s hometown, Agbo, has described his recent ordeal as political witch-hunt. In a statement signed by its coordinator, Tony Ugbejie, the group recalled the disturbing pattern of suspension of CBN governors could affect the country’s economic stability.
The group noted that such action by President Bola Tinubu could affect the direct foreign investment to the country.
The Agbor group tasked the government to carryout its investigation fairly and make findings known to the public.
The group urged Nigerians to remain calm assuring them that Emefiele would come clean of all the allegations.
9jahotvibes recalls that the Department of State Service had accused Emefiele of sponsoring terrorism, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other criminal groups in the country.
Emefiele has, however, dismissed all allegations by the secret police.
