Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2023 general election, Dumebi Kachikwu, has identified the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Nigeria Customs as most corruption agencies in the country. Read Full Story >>>
Kachikwu, who disclosed this during his Democracy Day broadcast stated that the pillars of the economy today rest on CBN, the NNPCL and the Nigeria Customs Service.
According to Kachikwu, the trio remains Nigeria’s most corrupt agencies in the society.
The politician urged President Bola Tinubu to launch a probe into the activities of these organizations as soon as possible.
He explained that the probe of the three institutions would not only unravel the level of abuse in the past few years but would also help the new administration to embark on reforms aimed at jump-starting the economy for the challenges ahead.
Kachikwu lauded the bold decision to announce the removal of subsidy on petrol.
He, however, faulted Tinubu’s failure to put in place adequate palliative measures to cushion the pain brought about by the hike in the pump price of petrol nationwide.
