April Lyda Mother Of Daughter Who Stabber Son Raises $10,000 From GoFundMe

This week, an update was provided by April Lyda, the mother of the family, who is heartbroken after her 12-year-old daughter, whose identity remains undisclosed, stabbed her 9-year-old brother, Zander, in the chest on January 5th.

The incident took place at the family’s residence located in Tulsa’s St. Thomas Square neighborhood.

According to a statement on a GoFundMe page, the individuals in question had a strong and harmonious relationship until the very end. According to her statement, there was no intention of physical harm between them as it was not in their nature.

She further mentioned that her daughter did not display any behavioral problems prior to the assault.

According to Lyda, the girl had been put back on a medication that she had stopped taking for over a year just before the incident. Lyda refused to disclose the type of prescriptions her daughter had received, but clarified that they were not intended for psychiatric reasons.

A 12-year-old girl, who was arrested for fatally stabbing her sibling, was seen sobbing and apologizing for her actions.

According to her statement, when her daughter started self-harming, she was taken off the medication.

However, she believes that it was too late as the harm had already been inflicted. According to the bereaved mother, her daughter has been well-behaved throughout the entire six months she has been away.

The mother expressed her support and love for her daughter’s recovery after the tragedy. According to the speaker, there is a significant amount of healing required before they can live together again.

The speaker also expressed concern for the mental and emotional well-being of the other person involved, stating that they may have sustained permanent damage, although the extent of this damage is currently unknown.

In a recent update on the campaign page, Lyda reported that the fundraiser has already surpassed $10,000 of its $15,000 goal. This update comes shortly after authorities released edited bodycam footage from the night of the attack.

In a distressing film, a 12-year-old can be observed continuously muttering “I’m so sorry!” while informing the police that she was overwhelmed by “demonic s-t.”

According to reports, the victim has sustained stab wounds to his chest, leading to concerns that he may have been the victim of a homicide. Lyda is seen informing her daughter in the video. Zander was pronounced dead at 2:30 a.m.

Lyda expressed her feelings of failure towards both her son and daughter upon learning of her son’s passing. She also stated her belief that the release of the video by authorities was neither legal nor appropriate.

The user cautioned the public against trusting information obtained from the internet or strangers who have no personal connection with them or their family. According to the mother, “I still have my rights. If I was negligent in any way, I doubt I would still have rights over both my surviving children.”

The Tulsa District Attorney’s Office has declined to provide any details about the case due to the age of the perpetrator. This includes information regarding the charges filed against the girl. The family has had other encounters with serious violence, in addition to Zander’s death.

In 2017, Levi Lyda, the father of the boy, was charged with felony animal abuse in Missouri. The charge was related to the alleged torture of his daughter’s kitten, resulting in its death.

According to reports, Levi informed investigators that he was heavily intoxicated when he took the life of the feline. He allegedly claimed that he did so because he believed the cat was becoming a financial strain on the household.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Levi was cited for severely beating a fellow inmate, resulting in a “moderate brain injury.” Although he eventually agreed to a plea deal that involved substance abuse treatment instead of jail time.

According to April Lyda’s statement to investigators, Levi, despite not being the 12-year-old’s biological father, treated the child as if they were his own.

According to the distressed mother, the child spends a lot of time with Zander’s father and grandmother, who treat her as if she were their own daughter and granddaughter.
