According to police, a landlord shot and killed a young couple who were cohabiting after a disagreement with the man, who was 30 years their senior.
At around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday evening, police in Hamilton, Canada were alerted and immediately dispatched to a home on Jones Road in Stoney Creek, Ontario, which is situated 45 miles south of Toronto.
Upon arrival at the scene, Hamilton Police Service officers discovered two individuals who had passed away.
The deceased were identified as Carissa MacDonald of Stoney Creek, formerly of Huntsville, and Aaron Stone of Hamilton, according to the Hamilton Police Service.

According to police, the Hamilton Police Emergency Response Unit secured the area while negotiators communicated with the male involved in an effort to reach a peaceful resolution.
During the negotiations, the suspect discharged a firearm at the Hamilton Police armored vehicle. According to reports, the suspect discharged more shots and subsequently engaged in a confrontation with law enforcement.
According to authorities, the police were able to neutralize the threat. Following this, the Special Investigations Unit was contacted and has since invoked their mandate over the investigation. The status of the suspect’s capture, whether alive or not, remained uncertain.
According to police, the families of both victims have been informed and the Homicide Unit has already questioned several witnesses who have been cooperative with the ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging more witnesses to come forward.
