Teacher Found Dead Inside Her Home Beside Lover

In a tragic incident, Amanda Hicks, a 26-year-old teacher, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, Carlos Diaz, 25, in their Port St. Lucie apartment. The couple had moved into the apartment just three weeks prior with their 11-month-old daughter, Alani.

During an argument with Hicks, Diaz reportedly flew into a rage.

Over the weekend, a suspected murder-suicide occurred in the apartment of a Florida middle school teacher and her boyfriend. Neighbors reported hearing a scream before the tragic incident took place. On May 26, Diaz turned a gun on himself.

Neighbor Monica Ventura, aged 56, reported hearing a loud and screechy scream emanating from the first-floor apartment on Friday night. She added, “That scream lingers in my mind.”

Hicks was discovered by law enforcement officials with fatal stab wounds, while Diaz was found deceased a few feet away as a result of a gunshot.
