Stephen Meyle Victim Of Fatal Stabbing In Spinfield Has Passed Away

In today’s news, it has been reported that Stephen Meyle, a 37-year-old resident of Springfield, has passed away due to injuries sustained in a stabbing incident that occurred on May 13th.
The reported incident marks the sixth homicide in Springfield for the year 2023.

At 10:49 p.m. on May 13, 2023, authorities were summoned to Cox South Hospital to investigate a male patient who was receiving medical attention for stab wounds.

According to the initial investigation, Stephen Meyle, a 37-year-old resident of Springfield, was dropped off at Cox North Hospital around 3 a.m. on May 13, 2023. Officers discovered that Meyle had sustained life-threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to Cox South Hospital.

On May 15, 2023, it was determined by Springfield Homicide Detectives conducting a follow-up investigation that the stabbing occurred at 1017 E. Commercial Street. The crime scene was processed and evidence was collected by the authorities.

Meyle died at the hospital on May 16, 2023, as a result of his injuries. The Meyle family has been notified.

A suspect has been identified and located by authorities. However, no arrest has been made yet as officials are gathering additional information before presenting the case to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney for review and potential charges.
