Rev. Harry Reeder III Identified As Victim In Thursday Birmingham Fatal Vehicle Crash Involving Dump Truck

The victim of a vehicle crash in Shelby County on Thursday has been identified as Rev. Harry Reeder III, who served as the senior pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church for a long time.

A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred in Birmingham on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of 75-year-old Reeder. The incident involved a dump truck.

A recent report states that a person named Reeder was driving a vehicle on Dunnavant Valley Road in Birmingham, when the vehicle collided with a dump truck from the rear at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

According to reports, Reeder was declared deceased due to injuries sustained from blunt force trauma at the location of the incident.

Since the retirement of Briarwood’s founder, the Rev. Frank Barker, from the pulpit in 1999, Reeder has been serving as the senior pastor.

According to Briarwood Executive Pastor Bruce Stallings, he has released the following statement:

In a tragic turn of events, Pastor Reeder has been called home by the Lord due to a car accident. The news is being communicated with a heavy heart. The community is being asked to pray for Cindy, Jennifer, Ike, Abby, and their family, as well as the staff and church members, as they mourn a significant loss together.

According to the speaker, they are not grieving without hope because they believe their pastor is with his Savior and has been received with grace, being told “Well done My good and faithful servant.”

Survived by his wife, Cindy, as well as three children and numerous grandchildren, Reeder, who was also an author and podcast host, has passed away.

The investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
