A tragic incident occurred over the weekend in Trentino, Italy, as Mark Andrews, a 65-year-old resident of Cornwall, lost his life while base jumping. Andrews fell a staggering 400 meters, resulting in his untimely death.

Tragically, a British base jumper has lost their life following a fall from a high peak in Italy. Mark Andrews reportedly lost his left leg on Saturday following a fall of over 400 meters down a rock face in Trentino, Italy.

65-year-old man, who originally hailed from Redruth in Cornwall, had been living in Bucharest, Romania, along with his wife. A skilled base jumper who was known for his love of adrenaline has tragically lost his life while at a popular jumping area in the Italian Dolomites. The individual was killed instantaneously.

According to reports, Mr. Andrews was donning his wingsuit during the incident. It is speculated that he may have been in possession of a parachute, but it remains unclear whether or not he was able to activate it. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate fall.

A body recovery operation was carried out by a mountain rescue helicopter, and the deceased was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital where they await repatriation. According to a base jumper who was acquainted with Mark, he entered the world of base jumping relatively late.

Despite starting in 2014, he has achieved a significant amount in a relatively short period. According to sources, the individual in question was described as courageous and their absence will be deeply felt.

A man who frequented numerous base-jumping competitions in Italy has also been known to engage in the activity over various bridges and skyscrapers across the globe. A drilling engineer who once resided in Moscow has relocated to Bucharest, the hometown of his spouse.

According to another individual, the location of the accident is known to be one of the most hazardous areas. It is typically reserved for experienced individuals due to its challenging nature.

According to the user, the descent is not a straightforward one as there are rock and tree ledges present in the initial 400 meters. The descent then continues for a distance of 1500 meters in a straight downward direction.

According to sources, caution must be exercised with regards to the wind when jumping from the aforementioned point. It has been reported that only seasoned professionals engage in such jumps, while others opt for Mt Brenta, located approximately 30 kilometers away.

As per the foreign office, they are currently in touch with the local police in Italy after a British man passed away, and are providing assistance to his family.
