According to court records, a resident has been accused of making threats to construct a bomb and detonate it at the Green Township administration building. The alleged threats were made after the township had instructed the resident to tidy up their property.
48-year-old Smittie Peterson has been arrested and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center. Peterson is facing a felony charge for allegedly making terroristic threats.
According to an affidavit filed by the Green Township police, the incident occurred on Wednesday.
According to court documents, the individual threatened to obtain a firearm and construct an explosive device with the intention of detonating it at the township building located on Harrison Avenue.
According to a sworn statement, the individual in question allegedly made threats after receiving a letter from the Green Township Trustees. The letter informed him to clean up his property, which had been deemed a nuisance, before the deadline given.
According to Peterson, he stated that he would detonate himself along with the building.
According to court records, the statements were made to “his caseworker” and a Green Township police officer.
At 9 a.m. on Thursday, Peterson is set to appear in court for the first time regarding the case.
