A man has been charged with 64 offences by detectives from the Special Crime Squad. The charges are part of an ongoing investigation into the man’s alleged offenses against females he met through online dating sites.
In the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials carried out a search warrant at the residence of the individual in question. During the search, they confiscated a variety of electronic storage devices, cameras, and computers.
Further victims were identified through forensic analysis of the devices. In a stunning discovery, a single mobile phone has been found to contain an astounding 232,000 images and 9,300 videos.
Detectives are currently conducting a digital forensic examination on seized material. They have discovered images and information pertaining to a significant number of women, and are working to identify them.
A 23-year-old man from Treeby has been charged with a long list of offenses, including aggravated sexual penetration without consent, acts to endanger life, health or safety, aggravated assault causing bodily harm, aggravated common assault, aggravated stalking, aggravated indecent assault, failing to obey orders, persistent family violence, aggravated threats to kill, sexual penetration without consent, common assault, deprivation of liberty, criminal damage, trespass, threats to compel, aggravated threats to harm, stealing, aggravated home burglary and commit, possessing other articles, and being armed to cause fear.
Detectives are currently conducting an ongoing investigation and are requesting the public’s assistance.
