The man who was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Durham has been identified by authorities.
On Monday, police reported that Desean Monroe, a 21-year-old resident of Durham, was fatally shot last Thursday at the Avon Crossings apartments.
Durham police are currently investigating a double shooting that occurred earlier.
According to police, gunshots were reported at approximately 4:32 p.m. in the 300 block of Avon Lake Drive.
Upon the arrival of the officers, two men who had been shot were discovered. Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS responders.
A second victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a hospital with injuries that are considered life-threatening.
