Briarwood Presbyterian Church Senior Pastor, Harry Reeder Killed in Birmingham, AL crash

The Rev. Harry Reeder III, a longtime senior pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church, was killed in a collision on Thursday morning in Shelby County.

On Dunnavant Valley Road, close to Dunnavant Place, the collision occurred at 10:01 a.m.

According to the authorities, Reeder’s car struck the back of a dump truck that was stopped for a turn.

Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans has confirmed that Reeder, 75, was declared deceased at the scene.

Since the Rev. Frank Barker, the founding pastor of Briarwood, left the pulpit in 1999, Reeder has been the church’s senior pastor. Reeder’s promotion to senior pastor was supervised by Barker.
