17-Year-Old Girl Send to Hospital in Brampton Shooting, Schools Lift Hold-and-Secure as Police Look for Suspect
According to reports, A total of nine schools were placed under hold-and-secure orders for most of Friday afternoon after a teen girl was shot with a replica firearm at a shopping plaza in Brampton.
After a juvenile girl was shot in a Brampton shopping center with a toy gun on Friday afternoon, nine schools were put on hold-and-secure orders for the majority of the day.
Around 11:25 a.m., officers were initially sent to the Central Park Drive and Grenoble Boulevard region of Brampton for a weapons dangerous report.
According to the police, a 17-year-old female was discovered “just outside” a Pizza Pizza restaurant with two wounds connected to the weapon’s firing.
Her condition was not life threatening when she was transferred to a nearby hospital. Police then amended their initial statement that the victim was 13 years old.
Police are still on the hunt for a male suspect however no description has been provided to the public. Peel police is encouraging the suspect to seek legal counsel and turn themselves in.
Investigations are still ongoing.
