Vanderburgh County Deputy Sheriff’s Officer, Asson Hacker Dies Unexpectedly

Asson Hacker Obituary: We’re sorry to tell you that Indiana’s Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff Asson Hacker has died on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Asson Hacker, a deputy sheriff, died because he was sick from working too hard and had sickle cell trait. He was learning defense tactics at the Southwestern Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Evansville.

While he was in training, he started to feel sick. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office had only had Deputy Hacker for a few months. His wife, four kids, parents, three brothers, and two sisters are the only people who will remember him.
