Early Sunday morning, a fatal crash occurred on a rural highway in Union Township resulting in the death of a man.
At approximately 5 a.m., authorities were summoned to Oldaker Road where they discovered the lifeless body of 42-year-old William Hornschemeier.
According to preliminary investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve, causing it to veer off the left side of the road. A car driven by an unidentified individual reportedly collided with trees before bursting into flames.
According to reports, a local woman is accused of striking a victim in the head with a hammer.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle. According to investigators, the individual was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and there is reason to suspect that alcohol may have been a factor.
