Alexx Ekubo, a Nollywood actor, and other movie stars have reacted in diverse ways to recent allegations of money laundering levelled against filmmaker Uduak Isong by a random Twitter user known only as @obynotony_.
Isong must be involved in money laundering, according to the Obynitony_, because she frequently casts A-list actors in her YouTube movies, which have a little following.
The critic also queried how Isong recoups the money she spent on A-list stars in such films. Tweeted the tweep:
“All these Nollywood filmmakers like Uduak Isong, who shoots 1hr + movies with established actors and posts on YouTube, how does she make her money? She barely gets up to one million YouTube views and I doubt if that’s up to what she spent…Smells like money laundering.. Hehehe.”
Alexx Ekubo reacted to this when Isong shared it on Instagram, writing, “Oshe money launderer.” I knew it! I had a feeling your long money wasn’t pure.”
“The amount of crab on Twitter eehn,” Monalisa Chinda wrote. People who are misinformed and uninformed and who tweet without thinking. Their imaginations in fragments. “Cash laundering.”
